Trust & accuracy

Every listing shows when it was last checked

Coverage

One search. Four ways to begin.

Medicaid comes first here, but it is not the only option. Search Medicare, commercial insurance, or self-pay with the same clear set of filters. A TalkDoc-verified Medicaid badge means the plan was confirmed directly with the practice.

FAQ

Common questions before you start

More detail is available in the how it works guide and on the pricing page.

Is TalkDoc free for patients?

Yes. It costs nothing to search, compare clinicians, or request an appointment. Payment for care is handled through your insurance or a self-pay arrangement with the clinician.

How can I tell when coverage information was checked?

Clinicians confirm their own listings, and every profile shows when its information was last confirmed. A TalkDoc-verified Medicaid badge means the plan was confirmed directly with the practice. If something seems wrong, you can report it for re-checking.

Is the marketplace only for Medicaid?

No. TalkDoc was built Medicaid-first, but clinicians may also accept Medicare, commercial insurance, or self-pay. Coverage differs by clinician, so use the filters to see the relevant options.

What happens after I request an appointment?

Your request goes to the clinician’s care team. They usually reply by email within 1–2 business days. You can send another request if you do not hear back.

Can I look for telehealth visits?

Yes. Most clinicians in the marketplace offer telehealth video visits. Profiles identify the visit options available, including in-person care where offered.

What does a marketplace listing cost a clinician?

The listing is free, including the public profile, search placement, and unlimited appointment requests. There are no placement fees, per-lead charges, or commissions. TalkDoc earns revenue when clinicians choose the optional AI Pro plan.
