Free for patients · Search clinicians who take Medicaid and other plans

How it works

Find care that takes your plan — in three steps

Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, or self-pay — the marketplace works the same way for every kind of coverage. No memberships, no booking fees, no phone tag.

  1. Search by your plan

Choose your state and your coverage — Medicaid, Medicare, commercial, or self-pay. On Medicaid? Pick your specific plan if you know it: every clinician in your results has told us they take it, and plans with the TalkDoc-verified badge have been confirmed with the practice directly.

  2. Request an appointment

Open a profile and hit "Request an appointment." Share your contact info, coverage, and preferred times. It's free, and the clinician's care team replies by email — usually within 1-2 business days.

  3. Meet by video

Most clinicians on the marketplace offer telehealth, so your first visit can happen from home. Prefer in person? Look for the in-person badge on profiles.

Other coverage

Commercial insurance or self-pay?

The marketplace works the same way for every kind of coverage. Pick Commercial insurance and your carrier to see in-network clinicians, choose Medicare if that's your coverage, or choose Self-pay to see clinicians who take patients without insurance. Rates for self-pay are set by each practice — ask when you request an appointment.

Not sure what you have?

Choose “Any coverage” and include your details in the request message — the clinician's team can verify your benefits before your first visit.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything to use TalkDoc?

No. Searching, comparing clinicians, and requesting appointments is free for patients. You only pay for care through your insurance or a self-pay arrangement with the clinician.

How do I know a clinician actually takes my Medicaid plan?

Every clinician confirms their own listing, and plans with the TalkDoc-verified badge have been confirmed with the practice directly. You can also report a listing if anything looks off — we re-check it.

Do you only have clinicians who take Medicaid?

No. Medicaid is where we started and it's still the heart of the marketplace, but many clinicians here also accept Medicare, commercial insurance, and self-pay. Coverage varies by clinician, so filter by yours to see exactly who takes it.

How soon will I hear back after requesting an appointment?

The clinician's care team usually replies by email within 1-2 business days. If you don't hear back, you can request an appointment with another clinician anytime.

Can I meet with a clinician by video?

Yes — most clinicians on the marketplace offer telehealth video visits so your first appointment can happen from home. In-person options are marked on each profile.
